Mission    What We Do

Mission

Global Education Initiatives ("GEI") is a company incorporated in the U.S. in 1997, with its head office located in the New York Metropolitan area.  The company's mission is to develop study programs and joint ventures to facilitate educational collaboration between the U.S. and Asia-Pacific.  The company aims to serve not only the needs of the students and professionals who are interested in further education and training, but also the needs of U.S. universities which are interested in expanding their international student enrollment or in setting up study programs or campuses in the Asia-Pacific region.

What We Do

The company, through its local agents and representatives, recruit college graduates and professionals in Asia-Pacific.  In the past few years the company has sent several hundreds of college graduates from Taiwan to the U.S. to study for master degrees.

The company has developed the following study programs:

  • Developed with the Johnson School of Management of Cornell University an executive development program for senior corporate executives.  The program, which takes four weeks to complete, teaches the latest in Finance, Information Technology, Competitive Positioning, and Developing Culture for Innovation.

  • Developed with the business school of Long Island University an MBA program for Asia-Pacific students and professionals to complete in one to two years.  Developed also with the school of education of the same university a TESOL Master program to train  teachers to teach English in a non-English speaking country.  (TESOL stands for "Teaching English to Speakers of Other Languages".)

The company's current projects include:

  • Working with a university in the U.S. to set up a master degree program on a campus in China.  The program will enable Chinese students to study for a U.S. degree without having to leave China, and enable U.S. students to study and gain real world experiences on a campus in China.

  • Working with a U.S. company to introduce a methodology to foster innovative thinking among the youngsters in China.

  • Working with universities in the U.S. and the nurse administrative authority in China to develop a program to bring Chinese nurses to the U.S. to study for bachelor degrees and receive RN training at the same time.

  • In development is also a program for gifted youth exchange.
